                                                                     JOB DESCRIPTION

                                                                                       Custodian

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to provide cleaning services, e.g., trash removal, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning etc. in the church facilities at the direction of the Business Manager. The church facilities are defined as: Church, Rectory, Parish Life Center, Church Office and School Gym.  The duties of the position also include light landscaping.  

KEY RESULT AREAS AND DUTIES

Perform custodial services: 

1. Cleans restrooms in church, church office, school gym and parish life center
2. Cleans floors in church, church office, school gym and parish life center
3. Cleans kitchen in parish life center to include appliances, prep surfaces and floor 
4. Maintains all cleaning equipment in s safe and responsible manner
5. Perform light landscaping services on church premises
6. Remove all waste material from church, church office, school gym, parish life center, school cafeteria and church grounds. 
7. Replenishes candles in sanctuary 
8. Provide set up for scheduled assemblies in the parish life center and holy family hall
9. Provide delivery service of incoming packages and boxes.  
10. Caries out established security procedures regarding daily closing/locking of facilities. 

Maintain equipment in maintenance closets 

1. Maintain inventory supplies that are routinely used
2. Maintain all cleaning equipment in a safe and responsible manner

Other Duties

1. Monitor communication for needed custodial service by electronic forms. 
2. Ability to monitor electronic facility schedules. 
3. Serve as a resource on facilities for both the Business Manager, Maintenance Specialist and Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Must possess necessary janitorial skills and knowledge. Have the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision. Must be familiar with cleaning/janitorial equipment and supplies to include their safe storage and usage.  Be able to work with a variety of constituents including children. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS AND COMPENSATION

This position reports to the Business Manager. The position works closely with both the Pastor and Business Manager for custodial needs.  Compensation is salary and benefits.
