What is your relationship with OLPH? Family?
When my husband Dennis and I moved here many years ago I had just become Catholic. I was confirmed by Bishop Niedergeses and a few years later became the Art Teacher here at OLPH School. Our children, Matthew and Lee Ann were both baptized here and attended our school and Notre Dame High School.
How and why did you become a Minister? How did you get started? How long is your tenure?
I first became a minister here by helping the music teacher by playing piano and guitar for the school Masses . For over 30 years I have helped with the school Masses and now I’m also a current member of the OLPH Adult Choir. I also have been an active member of The Society of St. Vincent De Paul for over 10 years in which our members help not only the needy in our Parish but also the needy in the Chattanooga area.
What is the most important aspect of being a Minister?
I believe that by being a good example to others and to help where there is a need is pleasing to God, Jesus and my Catholic Faith which I love so deeply.
How has this ministry role changed you?
My Catholic Faith has grown so much stronger and deeper through all the years of service in the church and I have received so many blessings through my ministries.
What would you say to someone who is considering a ministry role at OLPH?
I would say you won’t regret being a part of a ministry. It will change you. You will be a better and more complete person and you will make new friends. It will strengthen your faith in God and others.
Is there anything additional you would like to add?
I am so thankful for all the wonderful years of service here at OLPH and I pray that God gives me many more.
